Once again Blogger decided to erase my template, so all of my recent posts didn't post. Due to the fact that I rarely check my actual blog and what it looks like, I didn't realize that my posts weren't posting. I was wondering why my one week of not blogging had so many people emailing as to why I wasn't posting anything. As always the devil is in the details. Check out the most recent posts which had been posted, but haven't been showing. Also I will update the template and perhaps even add some links here shortly.

News, Notes, This and That:

Everyone for getting on me for not posting of late---my bad. Things were a little hectic the past week and a half as the Nik Kozy show rolled into town. Koz, in theory anyway, is taking his final tour before he returns to the work force and takes himself out of the 5.8% that is currently unemployed in our fair country. Yes I said fair, because I can’t call anything great where after all the taxes I pay when 50% (local, state etc taxes) or more of my income gets taken from me. Anyway the NY Times piece about all of the state budget short falls is a quality read so check it out. Shot out/props/respect to my man Oliver for getting into Kellogg for B-School (Northwestern if you don’t know, now you know). Mad props shout outs etc. Also props/shout out/respect to my man Ray for his new blog, one of MIT’s finest (next to the bro of course). Yeah Ray you are riding, but that is cool, blogging is hot these days.

Movies—DO NOT see Anger Management, it is crap. This marked only the second time in a nondescript rather bland career of attending movies, yet it was still a monumental event. After jettisoning out of that flick, checked out Malubi’s Most Wanted. Granted it was not a first choice, but I gave it the nod over my other option, Head of State. I will say this, Malibu was entertaining and I laughed, which is much more than I can say about Sandler’s garbage management.

Music—check out Weekend Players, Vikter Dupliax and Les Nubians new release. All are hot of course. Special thanks to Marques Wyatt for rocking out at Smartbar this past weekend, where I got together with some peoples and we enjoyed the music and dancing. His album is also a quality pickup if you are looking for some great house.

Only one link today and scrapplefacehas done it again. Check out the Rickey Santorum post… too hysterical.

NYT piece dedicated to the state budget shortfalls and cutting that is going on.

At least 15 states have raised taxes, five of them by 5 percent or more. Other states are turning to gambling, but are finding that the market has gone somewhat soft.
What the states are left with now, in some cases, are extreme measures, and infighting.
In Illinois, some prisons have been asked to reduce pharmaceutical costs by ordering more potent prescription drugs, and then splitting them in half.

Let's hope that they remember this next time there is a surplus. Odds on that are not very good.
